WUKKOUT!® INSTRUCTOR TRAINING FAQS
HOW DO I BECOME A WUKKOUT! INSTRUCTOR?
The first step is to register for the Wukkout!® Instructor Training. Our next in person instructor training will be held on Sunday January 21st, 2024 in Brooklyn, NY. Registration details can be found here. Once you’ve registered, you will receive an email confirming your registration. You will then receive a second email with detailed information regarding the Wukkout! Instructor Licensing Agreement and a link to register for the Wukkout!® Insructor Network. This will include choreography you will be expected to learn and present for your practical evaluation.
Upon successful completion of the practical evaluation, you will be required to maintain an active subscription to the Wukkout!® Instructor Network.
I’VE REGISTERED FOR THE TRAINING, NOW WHAT?
Be on the lookout for two emails. The first will confirm your registration to the training. You will then receive a second email which will include the Wukkout!® Instructor Licensing Agreement, a link to join the Wukkout!® Instructor Network and choreography you will be expected to learn and present for your practical evaluation.
HOW DO I COMPLETE THE PRACTICAL EVALUATION?
After you’ve completed the Wukkout!® Instructor Training, you will be required to send in a video of you teaching. This will be your practical evaluation. This is to ensure proper and safe teaching techniques and proficiency in choreography. More details on how to complete your practical evaluation video will be given to you at your Instructor Training.
Once your video has been reviewed, you will either receive a “Pass” or a “Resubmit.” If you pass, you will be a fully certified Wukkout!® Instructor. If you receive a “resubmit”, you will be given details on things to improve upon and will be asked to submit another video.
WHAT IS THE WUKKOUT! INSTRUCTOR NETWORK?
The Wukkout!® Instructor Network is our exclusive online community and resource center for Wukkout!® Instructors. This network will provide them with the latest choreography releases, music, continuing education and other tools necessary to promote and teach effective, up-to-date Wukkout!® classes.
You can choose to be billed monthly at $19.99/month or sign up for the year for $199.99. Maintaining your Wukkout!® Instructor Network access is necessary in order to keep your license to teach Wukkout!®. Additionally, you will be receiving monthly content and choreography releases essential to teaching the most up-to-date Wukkout!® class.
HOW DO I MAINTAIN MY WUKKOUT!® CERTIFICATION?
Maintaining your Wukkout!® Instructor Network access is necessary in order to keep your license to teach Wukkout!® As long as you maintain your Wukkout!® Instructor Network membership, you will maintain your License to teach Wukkout!® and will not be required to re-certify.
CAN I TEACH WUKKOUT!® CLASSES IF I AM NOT SUBSCRIBED TO THE WUKKOUT!® INSTRUCTOR NETWORK?
No. You must be subscribed to the Wukkout!® Instructor Network in order to teach or sub Wukkout!® classes.
CAN I CREATE MY OWN CHOREOGRAPHY FOR WUKKOUT!® CLASSES?
No. Wukkout!® is a pre-choreographed format. We want to ensure that everyone taking a Wukkout!® class, regardless of location, is getting the same effective workout coupled with the same curated experience. We are #teamwukkout and we are united as one!
IS THE WUKKOUT!® INSTRUCTOR TRAINING ACCREDITED?
Yes! The Wukkout!® Instructor Training is accredited with the top national fitness certifying organizations. You will receive continuing education credits as follows:
ACE - 0.7 CECs
AFAA - 7 CEUs
NASM - 0.7 CEUs
ARE THERE ANY PREREQUISITES?
Anyone 18 years of age or older can take the Wukkout!® Instructor Training. There are no prerequisites to take the training however a group fitness certification and CPR/AED certification are highly recommended as most studios and fitness facilities will require them if you’d like to teach.
WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL MY REGISTRATION?
You are eligible for a full refund if you cancel your registration 28 days or more prior to the training. If you cancel your registration more than 10 but less than 28 days before the training, you will be given a refund less a $50 cancellation fee. If you cancel less than 10 days prior to the registration, you will not be entitled to a refund. If you do not attend your scheduled training and did not notify Wukkout!® prior to the training, you will not be entitled to a refund.
ONCE I’VE PASSED THE PRACTICAL EVALUATION, WILL WUKKOUT!® SET ME UP WITH A TEACHING JOB?
Wukkout!® does not guarantee a teaching job however we have many relationships and partnerships with a variety of gyms, studios and organizations and will notify certified instructors if/when the need arises either for subbing or a permanent teaching position.
Once you have passed the practical evaluation, you are considered a Licensed Wukkout!® Instructor and you will operate as an independent contractor. You will be free to seek out positions teaching Wukkout!® on your own. We will provide you with logos and other marketing materials you may need to assist you with marketing and promoting your classes. Keep in mind, most gyms and fitness facilities require a general group fitness certification in order to get hired.
