Carnival by the Sea (Part II) with Wukkout!®

This Friday August 4th, there will be another free Wukkout!® outdoors in Coney Island's Luna Park.  In addition to the class, there will be a Caribbean Carnival headpiece making workshop for the kids, steelpan music, stilt walkers and a "Color Me Caribbean Dance Party" with a live DJ.  The entire event lasts from 6:30-9:00pm with the Wukkout!® class taking place at approximately 7pm and fireworks occurring around 9:30pm. Bring the whole family and join us as we celebrate 50 years of the New York Caribbean Carnival.  Details below.

Location: Luna Park in Coney Island (Wonder Wheel Way located near the Scream Zone - walk up Stillwell and make a left at the White Castle truck.  We will be on that side street).

Wukkout!® is Heading to Toronto!

We are beyond excited to announce that on Sunday July 9th, Wukkout!® will be crossing the border for our first class in Toronto, Canada!  For those of you who may not know, Wukkout!® Founder, Krista Martins, is originally from Mississauga (a suburb just outside of Toronto) and is very excited to be bringing Wukkout!® home for the first time.

Krista will be teaching one class only at the beautiful Yoga Yoga Studio in Toronto's Junction Triangle neighborhood.  All details, including registration information, are listed below.  Please feel free to email us with any questions and we look forward to seeing you all soon!

RECAP: Double the Wukkout!® at Aspire 2 Dance

Earlier this month, we had the pleasure of being invited to teach a Wukkout!® class for The Flatbush Junction BID's inaugural "After the Fete" event.  It was a festive celebration of Caribbean culture and community featuring face painting, steel pan bands and the caribBEING House.  Thank you to everyone who came out, we are always grateful for your support!

"After the Fete" Wukkout!® at Flatbush Junction

Come out and join us at The Junction and relive Carnival for an afternoon!  We have been invited by the Flatbush Nostrand BID to teach an outdoor Wukkout!® class for their first annual "After the Fete" Block Party on Thursday September 15th.

"After the Fete" will showcase the essence of Carnival and educate attendees on the significance and origin of Carnival.  There will be live entertainment, West Indian cuisine and of course, a soca fitness class provided by Wukkout!®  In addition to teaching, we will have a table where you are welcome to purchase any of our Wukkout!® Wear.  There will also be a Kiddie Carnival Corner where children will experience Carnival prep up close with live demos from make-up artists and costume designers.

Admission is free and food is a la cart.  All details are below.

Date: Thursday September 15th
Time: 2pm-8pm with the Wukkout!® class beginning at approximately 5:15pm
Location: Hillel Place (between Flatbush Ave. & Campus Rd.)  An address to use as a reference is 37 Hillel Pl., which is Ovi's Express. The 2 and 5 train stop across from Hillel Pl at the Brooklyn College/Flatbush Ave. stop.  If you are driving, parking is limited but can be found on or around Brooklyn College Campus.
Cost: FREE

This event will occur RAIN OR SHINE!  They will have tents so we can simply do the class under them if need be.  Feel free to contact us with any questions.  See you on the road!
