It’s that time of year! We are back for another 2 Hour Wukkout!® and Holiday Party. Join Wukkout!® Founder Krista Martins, alongside Wukkout!® Instructors Allie, Ariana and Phenixx, for double the Wukkout!® at Aspire 2 Dance in Bed-Stuy. Wuk up a sweat with us and then stay for light refreshments as we celebrate the holiday season. We will also be collecting toys and gifts on behalf of Brooklyn Community Services for children in need so we would appreciate it if you are able to bring a new, unwrapped toy or gift. Healthy Living without Breaking the Bank (plus a discount)

Hey everyone, the WELL Summit is less than a week away and I'm excited to see many of you there! I have the pleasure of attending the event for the first time as a WELL Insider and I'm looking forward to hearing of new ways to impact Wukkout!® as well as my overall life. I plan to take it all in and share with you all some tips I've learned along with the overall experience. Still, I thought it would be cool to kick things off by sharing five ways you can get healthier and get some exercise in without breaking the bank.

1) Take classes at the Athleta Studio – The beautiful Athleta Studio, located on the lower level of the Athleta Flatiron store, offers numerous fitness and wellness classes per week. Many of them are free community classes and are open to the public. Additionally, paid classes are available at $18/class or $15/class if you purchase a package (you won’t find prices cheaper than that in Manhattan). Sign up can be done via their MindBody site. While you’re there, be sure to check out our free weekly Wukkout! classes on Friday evenings at 6pm.

2) Check out the CityParks Website – The NYC Parks Department offer free fitness programming and other healthy activities for all ages throughout the 5 boroughs, all year round. Activities include everything from aerobics classes to healthy cooking demos; these are usually free and open to the public. Stay tuned for Wukkout!® classes coming to a city park near you in Spring 2019!

3) Check your local Library – A little known secret is that the libraries offer so much more than books nowadays; they have become a hub for all things community. Stop by your local library to check out their program offerings. Programming ranges from a variety of fitness classes to cultural workshops and activities - again - all free and open to the public - and heads up, you’ll even be able to find Wukkout!® there soon.

4) Tie on those sneakers and head outdoors! If you’re not really a class person or just like being outside, one of the quickest, most effective ways to get a workout in is strap on your sneakers and hit the pavement.  Going out for a run will give you a total body workout and won’t cost you a dime. Not much of a runner? Power walking is also an effective low-impact activity with many of the same health benefits as running.

5) Donation based Yoga - Another great way to get some classes in on a budget is to take donation based yoga classes. Many small yoga studios throughout the city offer at least one donation based class per week. A quick Google search of “donation based yoga near me” will pull up several suggestions. Some studios will allow you to pay what you can - even if it’s a dollar - while others may have a set minimum payment. Either way, donation based yoga is a great way to get some bang for your buck.

CarNYval & Friends: Pre-Labor Day Sweat Fete

It's going down, Friday August 24th, at Mark Morris Dance Center in Brooklyn.  Join Wukkout!® Founder, Krista Martins, alongside Wukkout!® Instructor, Allie, as they bring the Wukkout!® heat to CarNYval & Friends: Pre-Labor Day Sweat Fete.  The 3 hour class, hosted by Kiara of CarNYval Fit, will feature some of New York City's top soca and Afrobeat instructors, as we count down the days to the West Indian Day Parade.  Advanced ticket purchase is only available from our special #teamwukkout link.  See details and get your tickets below.

Join us for Soca on the Boardwalk Part II

If you didn't get a chance to join us last time, you have one more chance to Wukkout!® with us on the Coney Island Boardwalk for another edition of "Soca on the Boardwalk."  Fitness classes will be lead by Wukkout!® and FitBK and are free and open to the public.  Additionally, there will be a Caribbean Carnival headpiece making workshop for the kids and a "Color Me Caribbean Dance Party" with a live DJ.  The entire event lasts from 6:30-8:30pm with the Wukkout!® class taking place at approximately 7pm.  Bring the whole family and join us as we celebrate all things summer and soca on the boardwalk.

Wukkout!® on the Beach is Back!

Wukkout!® is heading back to the beach!  Join us on Saturday July 21st as we Wukkout!® on Coney Island beach in Brooklyn.  The class is free and open to the public and is being hosted by the Coney Island YMCA.  Class will be one hour long so pack your sunscreen, bring your towel and bottle of water and be ready for some fun in the sun!  All details are below; feel free to contact us with any questions.  We always have a great time so tell a friend to tell a friend; you won't want to miss this!

Wukkout!® Happy Hour: Spring Edition

Winter is over and we are ready to celebrate! Join us as we bring Wukkout!® Soca Fitness to 333 Lounge on Flatbush Avenue first Mondays this Spring.

First, wuk up a sweat and wine down low with and then feel free to stay and join us for low calorie drink specials. If you'd like to get there earlier, happy hour will run from 5-8pm.  Classes will be lead by Wukkout!® Instructor Tyrone and will begin at approximately 7:15pm.  Grab your friends, grab your flag and come Wukkout!® with us!

We are offering a new special if you sign up for all three Spring classes in advance.  See details below.

Wukkout!® Soca Fitness Class: Women's History Month Edition

Grab your girls and join us as we bring Wukkout!® to the Flatbush Caton Market for a special class in celebration of Women's History Month.

March is Women's History Month and we wanted to celebrate by holding a Wukkout!® class at the Flatbush Caton Market in Brooklyn. First wuk up a sweat and wine down low with us and then feel free to stay and shop from the different Caribbean owned small businesses within the market. You can also fulfill that post-class hunger by grabbing something to go from one of the West Indian food stalls on site.

Class will be lead by Wukkout!® Instructor, Allie and will be 1 hour long. The class is only $10 and tickets must be purchased in advance through Eventbrite. **No door tickets available.**   Details and link to purchase tickets below.
